The pallet wrapping technique is a relatively inexpensive and easy-to-apply method of securing load. It is suitable for both uniform and irregular loads. You can use hand pallet shrink wrap if you don’t have too many pallets a day. Or you can take the next step with a semi-automatic or fully automatic pallet wrap machine.
Wrapping allows products to be bundled, secured and/or protected against, for example, falling over, damage and dirt during transport and storage. This way your products will be sent from A to B undamaged and at the lowest (total) cost.
Other advantages of pallet wrap:
Clear pallet wrap is mainly used when it is an advantage to see what products are on the pallet. For example when you combine different kinds of products on one pallet. Because of the clear pallet shrink wrap you can identify which pallet is which, without having to scan barcodes.
Black pallet wrap is used mostly to prevent theft. It helps to block the view of anyone who would be interested in stealing the load that is transported or stored. For expensive products black pallet shrink wrap is a good choice.
If you want to use pallet stretch wrap the way it is intended, use a machine for pre-stretch. This way the wrapping film is stretched, which saves pallet wrap and increases the stability of the load.
The amount of pre-stretch is given as a percentage, ranging from 0% to 400%.
By using the right pre-stretch and pallet wrapper, the savings can be as much as 80%.
