Joining forces to fight poverty and food waste
For over 50 years, Matco International has been manufacturing pallet wrapping machines. But for us, good business is about more than technology alone. When we recently connected with Foodbank Deventer it was immediately clear: this is where we can truly make a difference.

The Foodbank Deventer supports more than 300 households every week who are facing financial hardship. With the dedication of around 160 volunteers, they work tirelessly to collect and distribute high-quality food. All driven by one clear mission: reducing poverty and preventing food waste.
As part of the Salland–Twente Regional Distribution Centre (RDC), Foodbank Deventer receives food donations from across the country. These products are stored, sorted and distributed to 11 other food banks in the region. This involves a large number of pallets, a lot of manual handling and significant physical strain on volunteers.
The question was therefore simple and practical: Can this be done more efficiently, safely and ergonomically?
In our experience centre Matco showcases a wide range of pallet wrapping solutions. Our semiautomatic turntable wrapper (T70) turned out to be the perfect match for Foodbank Deventer’s needs: saving time, improving pallet stability and reducing physical strain.
To support the food bank within its limited budget, the pallet wrapping machine was supplied at a reduced price and has now been successfully installed and put into operation, including full training so volunteers can work safely and efficiently.
We are proud to support Foodbank Deventer in this way and to contribute, even in a small part, to their vital social mission. No complicated stories – just practical action.
